I own a 95 gas wagon and over my year-and-a-half experience (around 17k miles) during which I consistently tracked and calculated fuel economy at every fill-up (and there are a LOT of ´em in there, believe me), I have never realized less than 9 mpg for a single tank of gas.
The cetane number is perhaps the characteristic most associated with premium diesel fuel, as an analogy to premium gasoline with higher octane ratings.
Despite Ford Motor´s return to profitability in 2003, the environmental group notes that Ford has so far failed to reinstate their pledge to increase SUV fuel mileage by 25 percent, or offer alternatives for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the Ford fleet.
